Editor-In-Chief of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako Junior should be prosecuted for his role in the Number 12 video, Chief Scribe of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia has called on the Attorney General.

His justification is borne from the fact that investigative piece was shown to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and deleted some portions he felt were injurious to his reputation and therefore must also answer for it.

“He is a key suspect in the matter because he first took the video to the President to watch after which some vital portions were deleted and therefore is a key problem in the whole matter”, he disclosed to Agya Yaw Obeng Preko on ‘Ghana te sen’ on Bohye fm monitored.

According to him, Ghanaians are not stupid because some of the teasers were missing in the main video which vindicates his point portions have been taken out insisting that the President and his Vice and other appointees must also be investigated and prosecuted if need be.

“It is the same Kwaku Baako who is exposing himself to the world. Do you know Anas Aremeyaw Anas was mentored by the same Kwaku Baako? We must investigate the money laundering and other areas including the $11 million dollars and his association with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. The President is complicit because he has allegedly received bribe”, he stated.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC)  in a statement signed by its National Organiser, Kofi Adams wants President Akufo-Addo to “open himself up for transparent and credible investigations by an independent body” to clear his name in the bribery scandal unearthed in the ‘Number 12’ undercover exposé by Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

But Kweku Baako described their call as a “crude” and “cheap” politics by the opposition.

“It is absolute nonsense, sometimes we have to be direct. The crudity of our politics sometimes irritates me. I have been intrigued by the lack of enlightenment in this whole statement“, he said.

‘It is annoying, what is wrong with politicians? This is opportunism of the highest order. No basis, he should open himself to what? An independent body?’, Mr Baako quizzed.

Asiedu Nketia, however, insists the veteran journalist is as guilty as the president and should be made to answer as well because he appears not to be telling Ghanaians the truth about their encounter with the president on the Number 12 video. Zoure/2018
