There are growing concerns over the rate of missing persons in Ghana since the turn of 2019.
Although most cases go unreported, a recent occurrence in the Western region of Ghana drew widespread condemnation where five people were reported missing as a result of the kidnapping plot.
Later, only three people were found safe.
There is another similar developing case in the greater Accra region where a 22-year-old young man has been reported missing.
Benjamin Adu-Boahen who is about 6ft tall, dark in complexion and fluent in Twi and English closed from work on Monday, February 18 around 5 pm and since then has not been seen.
According to the mother, she earlier spoke to her son on phone at about 6:30 pm. Her son confirmed that he was around Adenta on his way home after the original vehicle he boarded broke down.
The mother called back after a while but could not reach him again.
“I called him at 6:30 pm and he was at Adenta in a faulty vehicle.
Meanwhile, the Adenta police unit is yet to address the dismayed family and residents of the area as they are still on the hunt for the missing boy.
The family of Benjamin Adu-Boahen is also pleading with the general populace to report to the nearest police station if he is sighted.
