Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection and Member of Parliament for Dome Kwabenya has broken her silence on her presence in Parliament on November 30, 2o21 for the approval of the 2022 budget.
Members on the Minority side of Parliament expressed worry over what they claim as impersonation on the part of the Majority to get the needed numbers to approve the budget.
The North Tongu Member of Parliament Samuel Okudzeto Ablkwa who spoke on Accra-based Joy FM said they are investigating to conclude on the lady brought to impersonate the Gender, Children and Social Protection Minister.
“Following pictures and videos we are reviewing this morning, it is becoming quite apparent to us that there may be a case of impersonation with regards to the lady who was presented as Adwoa Safo. It’s beginning to appear that she may not be Adwoa Safo,” he said.
But in a post on the Facebook page of the Member of Parliament, she has refuted claims that she was not the one in Parliament.
She indicated that she was present during the proceedings and was part of her colleagues who approved the budget the 2022 Agyenkwa Budget.
Adwoa Safo said with the approval of the budget the Business of Government will go on unabated with the approval of the budget.
Her post read “Yesterday, I was in the House of Parliament for the approval of the 2022 Agyenkwa Budget Statement and Economic Policy of Government presented by the Hardworking Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta.The Business of Government will go on unabated with the approval of the budget. In the meantime, on to the other matters of serving the good people of Dome-Kwabenya Constituency”.
