The National Democratic Congress has demanded the resignation of His Excellency Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo as President of Ghana.
This is in relation to the allegation leveled against the President for taking bribes. In a press conference organized by the party on Wednesday, December 2, the NDC claims that the President has disgraced the whole country and is no longer fit to be called President.
According to the NDC, Nana Akuffo received a bribe from one Bawuah in his [Nana Addos] office. At the press conference, videos were played and the NDC alleges that the President took some bribe and that is why Martin Amidu decided not to work as the Special Prosecutor again.
On his part, a member of the NDC communication team, Sammy Gyamfi, challenged the President to deny the allegations leveled against him.
Sammy Gyamfi said;
I challenge Nana Addo to deny this allegation. The New Patriotic Party supporters are guilty that is why they are all quiet on social media. Nana Addo has tarnished the image of Ghana. Ghana has no glory before the international community for this evil practice of bribery and corruption.
Addressing the press, Sammy Gyamfi described some media houses as having double standards when they were unable to play the videos which according to NDC is on youtube.
According to him, if Nana Addo is a man of integrity, he should resign and not even think of vying for the Presidential race on the 7th of December.
Speaking on Peace FM on Tuesday, December 1, the Information Minister, Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah revealed that the video that was being circulated was fake and is targeted towards damaging the image of the President.
According to him, such fake news will come in their numbers and has advised the general public especially the media to be circumspect on their reportage.
