Akufo-Addo’s World Standard ambulance saved my sister from dying – Leila Djansi

An American and Ghanaian filmmaker Leila Afua Djansi, has commended Ghana’s President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for providing world standard ambulances to save lives in Ghana.

She noted that her sister was saved from dying in one of the fully-equipped ambulances supplied to each constituency in Ghana by the present administration.

In a tweet on Thursday October 1, Leila said “Much appreciation to Ghana’s President @NAkufoAddo for the Ghana National Ambulance service.

“A fully equipped vehicle complete with monitors, resuscitation kits and professional staff. Def world standard. Saved my sister.

“Thank you! Hope the hospitals also become as equipped.”

In January this year, President Akufo-Addo commissioned the distribution of the ambulances to all the 275 constituencies in Ghana in fulfilment of his 2016 election campaign to help improve emergency healthcare delivery.

The programme is under the Ministry of Special Development Initiative christened, “One Constituency, One Ambulance”.

“Government is committed to ensuring an effective Emergency Medical Service (EMS) to help improve our country’s emergency response capabilities,” the president said.
