BBC sex-for-grades video: Butakor tried to rape me in Oda SHS – Lady alleges

Dr Paul Kwame Butakor, one of the two University of Ghana lecturers implicated in the BBC’s sex-for-grades documentary has been accused of attempted rape by a lady who claims to be a former student of the lecturer.

According to the lady who is identified as Priscilla Deconte Cudjoe, Dr Butakor tried to rape her when she was his student at Oda Senior High School in the Eastern region in 2008.

Sharing her experience in a post on social media which has gone viral, Priscilla disclosed that Butakor was her Mathematics teacher Oda SHS.

Priscilla alleged that Butakor was so bent on sleeping with her that he tried to force his way.

In his forceful attempt, Butakor tore her clothes and underwear but she defied all the odds to resist him.

After fight Butakor off, Priscilla went on to report the rape attempt but according to her, nothing came off it because no one believed her at the time. Butakor even threatened her and he had to let the matter lie.

Priscilla who feels vindicated 11 years after her ordeal happened prayed that Butakor will be dealt with seriously.

“I was a victim. The said Dr Paul Butakor tried to rape me when I was in high school. He was my Maths tutor at Oda Secondary School.

“He tore my clothes and underwear and I fought him. I reported him but no one believed me at the time. He threatened me after.
