DAF Cargo Truck heading towards Burkina Faso has been involved in a horrific accident with two buses leading to the death of at least fourteen (14) passengers while over 80 passengers sustaining various degrees of injury.
The horrific accident occurred at Kyekyewere, a settlement near the Nsawam- Suhum stretch of the Accra-Kumasi Highway in the Eastern Region on Tuesday morning around 5:30 am.
Body parts of the victims could be found littered all over the street at the accident scene.
A child is reported to have also lost his life.
Eyewitnesses say that the Cargo truck that was moving at high speed burst a tyre which caused it to veer off the road crashing into the two buses coming in its opposite direction.
14passengers on board the STC bus with registration number GE 8131-16 and another Bus with registration Number GT4997 -20 lost their lives with about 80 other sustaining serious injuries.
Personnel from the Ghana Police Service, Ambulance, and National Disaster Management Organization quickly got to the scene to rescue the victims who were rushed to the Nsawam and Suhum Government Hospitals.
All the dead bodies were also moved to the morgue.
