We Are Committed At The Welfare of PWDs–North Tongu DCE

    District Chief Executive for North Tongu District ,Richard Collins Arku have presented items and starts up kits worth one hundred and sixty four thousand cedis [1.4 billion old Ghana cedis ] to persons with disability [PWDs] in the district .
    The DCE,  Richard Collins Arku promised government’s total commitment at making sure that PWDs are well catered for and given the necessary support and empower them  economically to be self reliance  and also get them out of the street and other activities that can  endanger their lives
    He said  , the government  is committed and focused to enhancing the living conditions of PWDs in the country and appealed to the public to also support the PWDs in their little ways
    Mr Richard Collins Arku said , building capacities and empowering PWDs is one of  government major priority  to enable them become self reliant
    According to him, the assembly which represents the government in the districts  will continue to support PWDs with training and working tools to empower them financially
    “Government will continue to support PWDs and families by empowering them economically as well as sponsoring their children in school” Mr Arku  assured
    The president of the North Tongu Branch of persons with disability  ,Atsu Amedzo told mynewsghana ,it is very important that government increases the amount allocated for them so everyone with any form of disability could benefit from it
    “Government must increase the our percentage to enable others benefit from the program” he pleaded  on behalf of the group.  He however commended the DCE for the area for his deep love towards persons with disability in the Noth Tongu District
    Items presented were, sowing machines, deep freezers ,fridges ,wheel chairs, provisions, ,milling machines, hair ,desktop computers ,laptops ,physical cash among others     to 70 PWDs  with various types of disability
