COVID-19: CMB market in Accra closed down

The Klottey Korley Municipal Assembly (KoKMA) has revealed that it has closed down the CMB market until further notice.

The  Municipal Security Council (MUSEC) said that if took the decision to close the market after a meeting was held over the refusal of sellers in the market to abide by social distancing measures set by the government and the World Health Organization (WHO).

The Municipal Chief Executive, (MCE) of the assembly, Nii Adjei Tawiah explained to the traders when he visited the market that the market was being closed because of their refusal to comply with COVID-19 preventive regulations and measures.

He said, “We have visited this market to educate them on the COVID 19 protocols but we are now left with no other alternative than to shut down the market.”

He however explained that the market will  be reopened if only the traders agree to comply strictly by COVID-19 preventive measures.
