Ghana Bamboo Bikes has called on the government to create bicycle lane in the country in other to improve people’s desire to ride a bicycle.
Speaking at the World Bicycle Day 2021 in Accra, the founder of Ghana Bamboo Bikes Initiative, Bernice Dapaah, says people have desire to ride a bicycle but there are no lanes for bicycles.
According to her, regular riding can improve your quality of life and reduces the risk of developing several diseases such as obesity, heart disease, cancer, mental illness, diabetes and arthritis.
World Bicycle Day is celebrated every year on June 3. The day aims at developing a culture of cycling for basic transportation, commutation, and strengthening physical and mental health.
She added that riding a bicycle regularly is one of the best ways to reduce your risk of health problems associated with a sedentary lifestyle.
