Stoke City have named Paul Lambert as new manager.
Lambert, 48, has signed a contract until the end of the 2019/20 season.
He is tasked with lifting Stoke out of the Premier League relegation zone.
He replaces Mark Hughes at the bet365 Stadium.
In a statement Stoke said: “When the club made a managerial change nine days ago we stated that we were looking to make an appointment as soon as possible, particularly given our position in the league and the over-riding priority being retaining our place in the Premier League.
“The club reviewed a number of people against the criteria set and met with a small number of parties who had expressed an interest in the job.”
Lambert last managed at Wolves but lost his job last year.
