Eagle Prophet reveals why Black Stars lost to Tunisia

The founder and general overseer of the God’s Crown Chapel, Prophet Reindolph Oduro Gyebi, has blamed Black Stars coach, Kwesi Appiah, for crushing out of the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Egypt.

The Eagle Prophet, as he is popularly called, says his instructions to Mr Appiah to field both Dede Ayew and Asamoah Gyan to play 90 minutes were blatantly flouted.

“If Dede and Asamoah Gyan had even played with market women, we would have won the AFCON” he stated on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem programme Tuesday.

The Prophet revealed that he saw the Black Stars in his dream being crowned as champions of Africa.

But the Black Stars, for the first time in the history of the AFCON, was eliminated by Tunisia thereby failing to advance to the quarterfinals of the competition.

The Carthage Eagles beat the Black Stars 5-4 on penalties following a 1 – 1 draw after extra time.

The elimination has brought pressure on the coach as Ghanaians are calling for his head for performing abysmally.

Contributing to the debate of what could have led to the under-par performance of the Black Stars, Eagle Prophet said he did not watch the game because he knew Ghana would lose.

“The match was played Sunday night in the spiritual realm and we lost because the coach did not follow instructions,” he fumed.

The man of God said another factor which militated against Black Stars was the decision to make Dede Ayew captain at the expense of veteran, Asamoah Gyan.

He said the AFCON would have been cool chop for Ghana had the coach listened to simple instructions.
