Ex-president Mahama Drove Many To The Point Of Suicide- Wontumi

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boaisako, has downplayed the chances of the National Democratic Congress winning the 2020 elections with ex-president Mahama as their preferred candidate.

He posited that life under former president Mahama drove many to contemplate suicide but the assurance that Nana Akufo-Addo would kick him out of power, made them rescind that decision.

“It took the grace of God to overcome the disaster Mahama had created. He just made life hard for the people he was governing”, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boaisako said.

He explained that to the voter, the name ‘Mahama’, connotes “retrogression”.

He further described the former president as someone who came to power to extort from the poor taxpayer to enrich himself making it difficult for Ghanaians to make ends meet.

“Ask John Mahama what happened to the $10 billion Hope City Project. That project was expected to create jobs for more than 50,000 people in the country but what happened? Through extortion, he ended up creating jobs and properties for only himself, wife and brothers”, Mr. Antwi-Boasiako said.

For this reason, the NPP scribe populary known as Chairman Wontumi noted that “voters wouldn’t want to have such an extortionist return to power. They won’t ever make that mistake of voting for John Mahama knowing very well he has amassed so much wealth through extortion.”

Former President John Dramani Mahama has criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP), for making the conditions of living in the country for the ordinary Ghanaian “super-hard” as compared to when the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) was in power.

He passed the above remarks when he addressed constituency delegates and some supporters of the party at Garu in the Upper East Region as part of his campaign to lead the party as flagbearer in the 2020 polls.

But Chairman Wontumi responded by stating that life under the former President wasn’t only hard but suicidal.
