‘Exhibits’ – Social Media in shock over Law Court Complex sewage blockage

Some social media users are surprised as to how used condoms and sanitary pads got into the sewage system of the Law Courts Complex Building in Accra, blocking its sewer lines and creating unsanitary conditions in the building.

Management of the Law Courts Complex in Accra has had to issue circular enjoining users of the facility to ensure proper disposal of refuse in the facility and noting how condoms, sanitary pads, plastic packaging and others have blocked their sewage system within the building.

“…In recent times we have experienced blockages in our sewage lines as a result of the improper disposal of waste. Sachet water bags, used sanitary towels wrapped in polythene bags, used condoms, used paper hand towels were all found in the sewage lines. Management has thus advised the public to note that it is not right to dispose off the mentioned waste in that manner.

Please take note that these items are to be disposed off by placing them in the dustbins provided in the washrooms,” the circular sighted by read in parts.

Reacting to the news on social media, some people sound surprised while others appear to be poking fun at users of the facility, especially judges,  lawyers and other judicial staff.
