A Senior lecturer at the KNUST – School of Business, Dept of Human Resource and Organizational Development who doubles as a Consulting Vice President for the Madina Institute of Science and Technology at Accra, Prof. Naail Mohammed Kamil has extended an invitation to Rev. Owusu Bempah to assess his psychological condition. The HRD Certified Professional Trainer from the Malaysia Ministry of Human Resource, with operations in Malaysia, Indonesia and Ghana, claims the Reverend may be a candidate for HPD (Histrionic Personality Disorder).
According to Prof Naail , over his year-long stay in Ghana, he has critically observed some personalities which he thinks may be victims of HPD. He asserted that his views on the Reverend is not born out of emotions due to the current death-related prophesies by the Rev.
HPD is a personality disorder characterized by a pattern of excessive attention-seeking emotions. He confirmed this to Alpha Radio’s Abdul Basit.
He added that people with HPD have a high need for attention, make loud and inappropriate appearances, exaggerate their behaviors and emotions, and crave stimulation. They usually have good social skills, thereby making use, misuse and abuse of those skills to manipulate others into making them the center of attention.
As an expert in the behavioral sciences, Prof Naail challenges any Psychologist to come out on TV or Radio for a dialogue or open forum to assess Rev. Owusu Bempah. He added “My doors are open to him, for sure I will assist him with psychological treatment if he happens to be a candidate of HPD”.
Prof Naail concluded by saying that Ghanaians are at peace for decades, enjoying peaceful coexistence despite our complex socio-cultural and multi-religious backgrounds, and as a result, he will caution the Ghanaian youth, Muslims and non-Muslims alike, to desist from any counter productive and criminal acts of attacking the Rev, or his Church or to vandalize any property, as it is not the way Islam teaches. He also humbly calls on H.E. the current Vice President of the republic of Ghana, the former Presidents, and the Chief Imam, to forgive the Reverend Owusu Bempah.
