Parts of the Kaneshie Market complex in Accra has been gutted with fire.
According to sources, the fire started around 11 pm on Saturday evening. The fire has destroyed some shops and properties whose worth is yet to be known.
Nine shops severely affected by the fire. However, some six shops were totally burnt.
So far, no casualties have been reported.
A distress call to the Ghana National Service got them to come with fire tenders to quench the fire. The source of the fire is yet to be disclosed by the personnel of the fire service.
The rampant outbreak of fires across a section of markets in the country only leaves some traders and observers to believe that these are the handiworks of some arsonists.
This fire comes after a portion of the Kantamanto market in the Central Business District of Accra was destroyed by fire just a few days ago.
The government has offered to relocate the affected traders to the car park of the Accra Railway Station to ply their trade.
Some traders have rejected this offer and are calling for a better response to their plea.
