A Ghanaian wife, Rebecca Oforiwaa has stormed the court to beg against the deportation of her Chinese husband.
Lan Hai Song together with his colleagues Chinese was arraigned before the Kumasi High court for engaging in illegal mining.
Sensing that he will be deported his wife stormed the court to plead for a different sentence.
According to the 27-year-old wife, her Chinese husband is a good person.
She pleaded that when he is deported, life will be unbearable for herself and their 4 children.
“He is a good man who takes care of me and my family. He even catered for my SHS education. I delivered this baby with a fresh placenta just four days ago. I plead with Ghanaians to be lenient with him because he is not a bad person. How would I and my children survive in the unlikely event of his deportation?” she said to multimedia reporters after her emotional plea in court.
Despite the antics of Rebecca Ofori, the court found Lan Hai Song and his other accomplices, Wen Shi Li, Huang Shen Jun, and Li De Hao guilty of using fraudulent means to attain residential status, working without required permits, and obtaining illegal residence permits.
The presiding judge, Justice Emmanuel Senyo Amedahe ordered for them to be deported.
