Ghanaians have been cautioned against treatment of bone related diseases with herbs and other traditional means which in the long run, causes more harm than good to the original framework of the body.

According to the acting medical director of St. Francis hospital in Assin Fosu, Dr. Bernard Brewu, there have been several instances where people have visited the hospital with a rotten leg due to over reliance on traditional treatment instead of visiting the hospital on time.

The medical doctor spoke to the media at a program, organized by the Assin Fosu municipal Assembly to handover an Anesthesia Machine to support the operation of the health facility. He explained that, the machine has come at the time where many patients especially accident victims, are being referred to other KATH 37 military hospital due to lack of anesthesia machine in the facility.

Meanwhile, an accident victim, Kwasi Adjei Yeboah, who had gone to the St. Francis hospital few months ago for treatment of a broken leg, however referred to KATH in Kumasi due to lack of anesthesia machine in the facility.

However, the Assin Fosu MCE, Nicholas Kofi Baako, explained what motivated the Assembly for the kind gesture.
