Hon. Fiifi Fiavi Kwetey to step down as MP for Ketu South


As the political parties are preparing for election 2020 some parties has opened nomination for their presidential candidate some are yet to open nomination.

The biggest opposition party National Democratic Congress presidential candidates has already filled theirs now waiting for the nomination to be opened for their parliamentary candidate .

The Hon. Member of Parliament Fiifi Fiavi Kwetey has stepped down and promised not to contest again.

According to Fiifi, he had a meeting with executive members of the National Democratic Congress at the party office on Saturday 15th December 2018 in the Ketu South.

According to him he decided to do that to make way for other people in the party to take the mantle as MP for Ketu South to continue from where he has stopped.

The Hon. Member of parliament for Ketu South Fifi Fiavi Kwetey served in different platforms in this nation in 2014-2016 he served as minister for Agriculture, he also served as deputy finance minister and also deputy transport minister.

Recently hon. Fifi Fiavi Kwetey has donated GH₵20,000 (200 million cedis) to the Ketu South municipal hospital. The donation is part of the member of parliaments commitment towards the improvement of quality health care to the people of the constituency and its environs, especially women and children.

The cheque of GH₵20,000 presented to the management of the Ketu South municipal hospital which will be for renovation and expansion of the antenatal unit of the municipal hospital.

He further added that he hopes that the antenatal unit of the hospital through his support will help our mothers to go for antenatal care in order to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality in the constituency.

According to him, this is in line with the National Democratic Congress (NDC’s) commitment towards investing in projects that will incur to the benefit of the people of Ghana. He said the achievement of NDC in the health sector remain unmatched .He assured his constituency of the party’s readiness to recapture power in order to continue the good works.

As part of the just ended 34th farmer’s day celebration the Hon. Member of parliament Fiavi Fifi Kwetey has presented a cheque of GH₵10,000 to the Ketu South municipal assembly to purchase a tricycle for the best farmer of the constituency.

According to him, he has made efforts to support agriculture in diverse ways, and the construction of the Akanu Dam in the constituiency is one of such major moves, other support includes the supply of fertilizers and the procurement of a tractor to help farmers. The Hon. Member of parliament for Ketu south Fifi Fiavi Kwetey assures all farmers and fishermen of his continued support to ensure that farmers and fishermen realize their dream of sustainable high productivity and higher income.

He also said “I’ve done my best for Ketu South it is time for another person to represent Ketu South in parliament on the ticket of NDC we have to choose somebody who is loyal to the party.
