Head coach for Kumasi Asante Kotoko,Charles Kwablan Akonnor has hinted he feels sorry for his Burkinabe goal poacher Songne Yacouba following his recent goal drought.

The incredible striker who having joined Kotoko in 2016 from Stade Malian has been a cheer-quality in terms of performance has failed to find the back of the net in almost his last seven(7) official games for his outfit. Which has left majority of the Kumasi based team fans worried.

Yacouba,27, who once again was on top of his game in the Porcupine Warrior’s CAF Confederations Cup group C home game to Zesco United which ended 2-1 in favour of the “Kum Apem” lads with the striker consistently coming close in countless occasions to have ended his goal drought but unluckily failed to equalize, after which propelled his coach C.K. Akunnor to say,

“I feel so sorry for Songne Yacouba considering his performance on the pitch but unfortunately isn’t finding the back of the net”

“He’s trying all he can on the field of play, which is not hiding but showing for every fan to see”

“But we as technical staff will do all we can to motivate him to get back to scoring ways,” the tactician told the press.
