The newly elected Member of Parliament (MP) for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Lydia Seyram Alhassan has stated that she bears no grudges against her colleague Minority MPs who described her as a bloody widow during her swearing-in ceremony and has thus forgiven them.

The Minority in Parliament boycotted the swearing-in of the newly elected Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West-Wuoguon, Lydia Seyram Alhassan.

However, the minority did not just storm out of the premises but rained insults on her by calling her a ‘bloody widow’.

Some members of the minority where holding signs and placards with the inscription ‘Bloody Widow’.

This is a result of the just ended by-election at Ayawaso West Wuogon which ended in over 18 people sustaining gunshot wounds from armed gunmen believed to be members of the National Security.

“I don’t know what their interest is but I will say that I have forgiven them and I ask our good Lord to forgive all of them. Time will heal my wounds and time will tell my story,” the MP said.

That women on the NDC side partook in the protest also served as a point of disappointment for Lydia Alhassan.
