hi The Members of Parliament on January 15, 2021 met the Speaker of the House and it was expected that today’s sitting, Speaker Alban Bagbin brings finality to the matter on who constitutes the Majority and Minority of the House.

Hon. Bagbin did exactly as it was expected by settling the debate. According to the Speaker, the ruling New Patriotic Party with the association of the independent candidate have a majority group.

Well, news broke that the Speaker of Parliament has declared the NPP as majority in Parliament but according to NDC, the Speaker’s statement was misquoted because no party has the required number to form majority.

The Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, Sam George took to Twitter to post exactly what the Speaker said.

He said; “I haven’t said that the NPP have a majority in Parliament. I said with the association of the independent candidate, they have a majority group. No party has a majority in Parliament.”

See tweet below;
