In sequel to an expose by Daily guide which was subsequently used by Hon. Kennedy Agyapong on Net2tv on Monday 10th August, 2020, Berlinda Nana Akua Amoah aka Mzbel has refuted the claim that she said Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang pleaded on Prophet Nigel’s behave when she had issues with the Osɔfo.
Before this reaction, it was published by Daily Guide and latter used by Kennedy Agyapong on Net2tv on Monday that, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang was the person who pleaded for Prophet Nigel when he had purported raped Mzbel.
The musician said “The story as published by Daily Guide is not true but I take the blame for being angry and speaking the way I did”. She continued that she has a lot of respect for Hon. Kennedy Agyapong and she decided to narrate her ordeal at the hands of Prophet Nigel to him but what Daily Guide published which was used by Kennedy Agyapong was not true. “I am very very sorry that this is happening but I never said anything like that”. But, I take the blame”.
Her reaction was cited on GHPage TV today Tuesday 11th August, 2020.
The I’m ‘sixteen years’ hit maker further said she has never met Prof. Naana Jane before and have never spoken to her before, all the things she knows about her are those in the media. “Ever since she was nominated as the running mate, I’ve been reading about her and trying to follow her footsteps”. According to Mzbel she would never say any bad thing about her and has never said that. She continued that, the story as published by Daily Guide wasn’t true.
She ended by saying that, she is appealing to everyone especially Daily Guide not to use her as conduit to smear the NDC running mate. According to her ever since Prof. Naana Jane’s name was mentioned people have tried hard to smear her name, but that hasn’t worked but she is taking the opportunity to plead with all and sundry not to use her name for any smear campaign against the woman.
“Ever since I started my career in 2004 till now, Daily Guide hasn’t written anything positive about me. Because of that, whenever I meet them at programmes I don’t talk to them”. “Please, and please let me live my life in peace” she ended.
