Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Member of Parliament(MP) for Tamale Central, says he can prove that Dominic Nitiwul, Minister of Defense, has called the military into Parliament’s hall.

When tempers were heightened, the military marched into Parliament. According to some parliamentarians, a coup d’état reflects the intervention of the military.

But Murtala Mohammed, speaking to Joy News in an interview monitored by Mynewsghana.net, suggested that he could boldly say that the soldiers were ordered by the Defense Minister.

“I can say on the record that it was the Minister of Defense who called the military,” he said.

I insist that Hon Nitiwul called the armed men of the military to the Chamber. I questioned him when he made the call. That is why a comprehensive investigation should take place. I have evidence, and other members of Parliament may also testify.’

He said he told the Minister of Defence that bringing in the military was unnecessary and a blurr on Parliament.

The military was available to him and could be used for the reason for which the military was brought in.
