I want to become the President of Ghana- 12-year-old Legon Student

The 12-year-old student of the University of Ghana, Viemens Bamfo who over the weekend, the youngest among over 2900 freshest had his matriculation on the University campus.

In his speech, He said it his ambition to become the president of Ghana. My News Ghana reports.

He, however, made this known in consonance with the course he has been offered to study at the University. Viemens Bamfo who has been offered a long-distance course in Public Administration was home-schooled by his father after his lower primary education in Akyem-Oda in the Eastern Region.

He wrote and passed the West Africa Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) as a private candidate.

Viemens in an interview with the media said his father uses what his children like to teach them, thus teaching by association.

Also in an interview with his father Mr. Robert Bamfo, present at the ceremony said: “Where there is difficulty the child must resort to the dictionary. There are phonetic symbols so we do the phonetic skills and then once that is done, I teach Latin for vocabulary development,” Mr. Bamfo explained.

“I teach him the sciences; I don’t give notes. What we do is textbook centered. If the child doesn’t understand what he is reading, we do reading skills development… I do understand what I read. I have books on that so I use that to help them appreciate what they have read,” he stressed.

In furtherance, Viemens Bamfo stressed that he looks up to the US former President, Barack Obama and current Ghana’s President Nana Akufo Addo and wants to assume such mantle at the age of 40 years.

Viemens Bamfo stated emphatically that there is a reckless increase in inflation in Ghana.

“I want to improve our nation and make our nation one of the highest countries in the world… Things are going well but there are inflations in the economy…” he noted.
