Legendary Safohene Djeni Threatens Court Action Against ProsBeatz

Ejike Fresh’s track titled “Tarkwa Takoradi” which is now becoming the subject of controversy, was released some two months ago under the Management of Kritical Tymz Muzik, and has become the toast of music lovers both young and old, hence Fresh is becoming the Western Regions most sought after artiste by event organizers in recent times.

The wild fire sparked off by this street dance track however, is about to meet a serious storm; as Safohene Djeni (the highlife singer interestingly also known as the Nzema Bob Marley), has threatened to sue prosbeaTz, the Sound Engineer and owner of Blakk Entertainments; and the producer of the track, for allegedly using a sound bite from a commercial done by  Safohene Djeni for the GPRTU.

The NSA Award winner producer prosbeaTz, however maintains that he sees ‘nothing wrong with clipping the intro’ of Ejike Fresh’s Road Safety campaign song Tarkwa-Takoradi from the senior musician’s commercial, since the two projects (both the commercial and the track), aim at educating passengers and other road users on their responsibilities on the road towards reducing carnage on our roads through accidents,  albeit in different ways.

The veteran musician, arguably the only true Nzema Musician whose gramophone records have enjoyed  kissing the lips of the  BBC’s DJs  turntables apart from Freddie Meiway, has threatened to evoke the spirit of the Copyright Law to see to it that prosbeaTz pays dearly for ‘dubbing’ his property.

Calls from stakeholders including the GPRTU Executives that  Safohene Djeni (the Nea Ye Bo3 hitmaker)  to look at the issue from another angle, has yielded no result.

Showbiz Analysts are following this development of a possible test of the law in relation to such matters; while questions as to whether the Accuser actually legally owns the copyright of what has become the bone of contention now, lingers on.

Meanwhile, Kojo Kritical, the owner of Kritical Tymz Muzik under whose management are both Ejike Fresh and prosbeaTz, when contacted, will say  not more than “an official  Press Statement will be issued on this matter sooner than later”.
