Lands and Natural Resources Minister Samuel Abu Jinapor has described as false claims by Kwesi Pratt Junior that he is out of the country.
The Managing Editor for the Insight Newspaper is on record to have said that his travel is contrary to an order by the President for all his appointees to stay in Ghana.
In a post shared on Facebook, Samuel Abu Jinapor posted a photo of himself seated in Parliament reporting for duty.
He reminded kwesi Pratt of the fact that he is always willing to avail himself for Government business and will not in anyway go contrary to orders by the President.
He said “I just arrived in Parliament, today, 7th December, 2021, at exactly 10am!!! I heard my good friend Kwesi Pratt, claiming on authority that I am out of Ghana and will therefore not be in Parliament today, thus, the majority is down by one member. That is false. Subject to ill health, absolutely nothing can take me away from the business of the government of President Akufo-Addo in Parliament. Absolutely nothing!!!!”
The President of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has directed that all Ministers and their Deputy Ministers should not leave the shores of Ghana.
It is unclear what triggered the President’s directve but sources say the President wants all Members of Parliament present as the house begins the appropriation of budget estimates in the 2022 fiscal year.
However, Ministers who need emergency medical attention will be allowed to go.
