Minister of Communication, Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has taking a swipe at Imani-Africa President Franklin Cudjoe, accusing him and his cohorts of creating “defenceless fears.”
The President of IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe has waged a war against a multi million dollar contract agreement between the government of Ghana and Haitian firm, Kelni GVG for the provision of oversight and revenue assurance monitoring equipment for Ghana.
Following several back and forth between Franklin Cudjoe, Ministry of Communication, the Telcos, and some CSOs, two Ghanaians Sara Asafu-Adjaye and Maximus Amertogoh took the matter to a Human Rights Court in Accra seeking an interlocutory injunction to stop government from going ahead with the implementation of the common platform to monitor revenue patterns of telcos. An application which was thrown away by the presiding judge.
Giving his ruling, the presiding judge, Justice Anthony Yeboah said the application by the two applicants was merely based on public sentiments and debates as they failed to provide any real evidence to back their claims that their privacy would be breached should the contract be executed in its current form.
Writing on the ruling, the Minister of Communication said “The telcos themselves have 95% confidence in the set up and have stopped their feeble protest yet the sole crusader FC and his cohorts wants us to believe his ‘evidenceless fears!!”

“When it is coming, it is doing…. literal translation of 3ba a na 3y3….
You chose the venue for this confrontation and now refuse to accept the results?? Instead of listening to reason, you create your own set of facts, obsess about it and expect everyone to believe you just because you say so. Truth stands. There will be no violation of anyones privacy. There are no procurement breaches. Stop this before you get even more embarrassed. The telcos themselves have 95% confidence in the set up and have stopped their feeble protest yet the sole crusader FC and his cohorts wants us to believe his ‘evidenceless fears!! Well this world is made up of all sorts. The price of democracy is containing all shades of opinion, no matter how absurd. We will continue to engage the sane minds out there. It is a very sound reasoned ruling on all fours with our laws. Chew on it and admit that sometimes, even you may get it wrong.”
