The Minister of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs is leading a second batch of Christian pilgrims to the holy sites of Israel, with the aim of strengthening their faith.

The Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs Minister, Samuel Kofi Ahiave Dzamesi said the Israel Pilgrimage was the second after the Ministry successfully facilitated a maiden pilgrimage last year.

He said the ministry is sending 200 pilgrims to Israel to pray for the nation.

Mr Dzamesi said his Ministry is committed to ensuring the meditation of the religious bodies that no one’s right will be infringed during the exercise of one’s faith.

He added that the pilgrims are expected to visit various historical sites identified in the Bible.

Samuel Kofi Ahiave Dzamesi urged the Christian Pilgrims to comport themselves and focus on praying for the nation as they do for themselves.

Meanwhile, Pilgrim Elder Emmanuel B.B. Akuamoah from the Church of Pentecost-Awoshie District in Accra said as a first time visitor to the holy sites, he deemed it a significant initiative.

He said it was an opportunity for him to have a feel of what he had read in the Bible about the birth of Jesus Christ.

According to the Ministry, the fares for this year’s pilgrimage remains unchanged from the 2017 pilgrimage which stood at $27,000 dollars per person.
