The executive body of the opposition party, the National Democratic Congress, NDC, has declared a three-day prayers and fasting ahead of the December 2020 elections.
The will of God, according to the party needs to be done. However, the party believes that the chariot is prepared for battle but victory comes from the Lord. The NDC also believes that the selection of a leader for the country has some spiritual connotation, an avenue which can only be achieved with the guidance of God through prayers and fasting.
The party seeks Gods intervention in the upcoming December polls which many people envisage to be a very eventful one consider the state of the security in the nation. With the event of the killings, armed robberies as well as other violent crimes, it is paramount that the country seeks Gods intervention so these happenings could be curbed.
According to a statement signed by the National Chairman, Mr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, the event will begin on Thursday, November 5.
“Above all, the NDC recognises that it is God Almighty who chooses good leaders for nations; hence the party shall be fasting and praying for a resounding victory for our flagbearer and parliamentary candidates in the upcoming elections,”
Prayer meetings will also be held at the party’s headquarters, on “Saturday and climaxed with a church service on the morning of Sunday, 8th November 2020, at the Royalhouse Chapel International in Accra.”
The theme of the fast is, “The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but victory is in the hands of the Lord”- Proverbs 21:31.”
