There was a near brawl at the official Resident of the Eastern Regional Minister in Koforidua Saturday between grassroot communicators(Serial Callers) of the Party and Regional Communication Director ,David Prah for allegedly short-changing them.
snipest of information gathered indicates that,on the fateful ,the NPP government allocated thousands of cedis and bags of rice and cooking oil to be shared to some Selected Journalists in the region aligned to the Party and Communicators of the Party in all the constituencies to encourage them engage in propaganda for the government.
Over 100 Party communicators and Journalists were present.
The Regional Communication Director,David Prah, who shared the monies and items decided to give the Regional Communication team members Ghc350 plus 5kg of rice and Bottle of Cooking Oil each,whiles the Constituency communication team members were given Ghc250 cash,5Kg of rice and Cooking oil each .However the Grassroot communicators popularly call Serial callers were given Ghc80 ,5Kg of Rice and cooking Oil which they flatly rejected and accused the Regional Communication Director of shortchanging them.
The serial callers mostly from Affram Plains South and North ,Kade ,New Abirem and other distance constituencies argued that the paltry given them as Xmas gift from government is insult to them considering the fact that they spent more than what was being given them on T&T to Koforidua.
Most of them angrily rejected the amount and the items and threatened to attack the Regional Communication Director creating altercation for many minutes and later stormed out of the meeting.
The angry grassroot communicators have since announced boycott from all radio activities .
