Second Lady, Samira Bawumia, has asked Ghanaians to endorse the Akufo-Addo government for a second-term, arguing their record in office is unmatched.

In an interview with Asaase Radio, monitored by, Mrs. Bawumia said policies like the free Senior High School, and the ‘one district, one factory’ demonstrated that the NPP is determined to improve the lives of Ghanaians.

Courtesy free SHS, financial barriers to secondary school have been removed, allowing more than 90,000 students who would have dropped out of school a lifeline, the government has said.

Some 1.2 milllion teenagers are in school at the government’s expense. The Finance Ministry has said investments in implementing the 2016 political campaign promise stood at GH¢3.2billion.

The Second Lady said she was impressed with the speed with which the government rolled out the policy in less than nine months in office.

On industrialisation, Samira Bawumia claimed the NDC government could only build one factory, the Komenda Sugar factory, from the scratch while the NPP has built more than 40 new factories.

“We have a plan…..we are thinking….we have been honest” she said of the NPP government.

The Second Lady who played a publicised role in the 2016 elections, throwing political jabs in the fashion of her husband said Ghanaians should not belittle the importance of the progress the country has made under President, Nana Akufo-Addo.

“Let’s not take leadership for granted” she warned and urged Ghanaians to vote for the NPP because “one good turn, deserves another.”

Ghanaians go to vote on December 7th, 2020 with President Nana Akufo-Addo meeting the NDC’s John Mahama for the second time.

John Mahama, in 2012 when he was president, won against the challenger, Akufo-Addo. But Akufo-Addo would unseat him in 2016 presidential elections.
