Offinso North; 85% Of Government Projects Complete, Assembly Explains Errors in Bawumia’s Tracker Site

Offinso North District PRO, Mr. Emmanuel Okandu has said the majority of infrastructural projects undertaken by the government in the district are at completing stage contrary to information available in government’s ‘delivery tracker website showing the level and stages of projects countrywide.

Vice President Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on Tuesday 18th August 2020 at a town hall meeting in Accra launched the website, www.deliverytracker.gov.gh which enables the public to keep track of government’s fulfilled promises so far infrastructural wise. The site displays in most areas of projects, “zero-project” and some “incomplete” with only a few completed for the Offinso North district while other invisible projects like “3 unit classroom block in Akumadan” capture in the track.

Reacting to these inconsistencies or seeming discrepancy, Assembly PRO Mr. Okandu Sought to clear the air on the exact situation on the ground explaining for instance that, 2bedroom teacher quarters at Nkenkaasu, 2storey 12unit classroom block at Nkenkaasu, construction of single-story dormitory block at Akumadan Senior High School, construction of ground floor 12 unit classroom block at Afrancho, Girls dormitory at Nkenkaasu Senior High School, among others in the education and other sectors within the Offinso North captured in the site are actually completed projects and not ongoing as stated in the site.

Aside from these, there are other visible uncompleted projects that could not find its way onto the site while unknown projects featured for Offinso North. A classical example is the Afrancho market sheds construction and a “completed 3unit classroom block at Akumadan ” respectively. Explaining further as to why the mistakes occurred, he said the directive to gather all ongoing and completed projects to be sent to the vice president’s office in Accra came quite late and so his office also delayed a bit in forwarding the information to the veep’s office.

The call came on Thursday evening and was to respond on Saturday but unfortunately, Friday alone could not be used to move through all the sites and so we continued taking pictures on Saturday and sent to Accra on Monday via email, so whether they were able to download the content or not I can’t tell”, the assembly PRO told SK DE Broadcaster on Cruz FM on Thursday. He however revealed he has been in contact with the office if vice president for the necessary corrections. Cruz FM newsroom
