The Minority in Parliament has served notice that officials of the Akufo Addo government playing various roles in the Aker Energy oil discovery deal will be candidates for prison should the opposition NDC assumes power in 2021 if the deal is not regotiated.

The NDC MPs and plocy think-thank IMANI Africa say Ghana risk losing as much as $30billion following the lack of transparency in the recent oil discovery made by Aker Energy.

The two have asked government to come clear on ownership of the discovery made.

Speaking to Starr News, MP for Bongo and Member of the Mines and Energy Committee of Parliament, Edward Bawa said government must not look on for an illegality to be perpetrated.

“Government must immediately tell Aker that you do not have legal basis to hold claim to those particular resources, come and let’s sit. And affter the negotiation they must bring the new PA to Parliament for ratification if they don’t do that it’s an illegality and potential minefiled for anybody including the Minister of Finance and whoever is involved that they are candidate for prison if the NDC comes back to power in 2021.”
