Ashantigold forward,Shafiu Mumuni has hinted his outmost interest in joining Ghana’s sole rep in this year’s CAF Confederations Cup tournament Kumasi Asante Kotoko following the club’s interest in the player to strengthen their attacking potency.
Shafiu,23,who has been in gun-blazing form so far for his Obuasi based outfit has since the commencement of the halted 2018/2019 Ghana Premier League been on the wanted list of the Porcupines.
As the “Kum Apem” club has reignited their interest in the forward following their “Group C” draw in the group stages of the Confederations Cup,having been paired alongside Zambian club’s Zesco United and Nkana FC as well as Sudanese champions Al Hilal Omdurman.
The player speaking to Kumasi based Ash FM lavished praises on the club’s Burkinabe goal poacher Songne Yacouba as a fantastic player and wouldn’t be bad if both are paired in games for Kotoko.
“Asante Kotoko is one of the biggest clubs in Ghana with a large fan base of which I would love to join,” Shafiu stated.

“The club wants me to join because of my performance. As the coach [C.K Akunnor] knows what I can offer having worked under him last season before joining Kotoko.”
“I will work perfectly with other players in the club to do a perfect work in the CAF Confederation Cup if I’m to join,” he stressed in conclusion.
