The Private University Students Association of Ghana (PUSAG), have for a newly term elected its executives to guide concerns of students across the country in the private institutions for 2021-2022 academic year at the Perez University, Wineba, on the 27th – 30th May, 2021.
The election that comes off every year saw portfolios of seven filled by students from the various Universities under the Association. The namely portfolios are President, General Secretary, Financial Controller, Women Commissioner, Media Relation Office and Chief Relations Officer.
With President taken up by Shamsu Alhassan from Zenith University. Priscilla Ruth Mensah a host student of Perez University, General Secretary. Asiedu K Agyei of Presbyterian University endeared himself to a familiar role of Financial Controller. Naa Darkuaa Oto, Women Commissioner, Daasa Vitus Maria a Spiritan University student held on to International Relations Officer, Baba Zakaria Abdullah won the Media Relation Office, a student of Wisconsin and Ahobah Frank of Dominion University taking Chief Relations Officer to remind the association what he is capable of.
There were no gimmicks and no shocks when the names of the newly executives were announced to the students, indicating clearly that the success at PUSAG is yet to reach it nadir.
Having five men and two women on the radar of leadership to serve PUSAG, it is fair to say it worked.
For large parts of the past executives at post, this new leaders seem more concern with the ethos that attack is vibrant and finishing will be of measure.
The executives led by President Shamsu in a clear voice made a pledging call to be textbook leaders to others, who contributions will be decisive at vital moments to continue keeping the dreams of the Association alive.
“We hope to commit ourselves and work in the interest of schools representing PUSAG to ensure success is chalked”, the group said.
It is clear to say the time is right for the Association to have executives with guile and physicality who will need no time to adapt and adjust to students call. Meanwhile it is also tempting to wonder if they will ever be ready in all honesty. Time will prove itself.
