The collapsed Bridge at Esereso- Adagya in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region which claimed the lives of 6 Jehovah Witnesses has been awarded to contract, according to the Bosomtwe District Chief Executive (DCE) Hon Joseph Assuming.
On September 10, 2018 six Jehovah witnesses drowned at Adagya while crossing River Ankonim, which had overflown its bank.
The flooding was as a result of a torrential rainfall that hit the area.
The collapsed bridge over River Ankonim was covered by the floods, but the victims, who were reportedly returning from communal labor in the construction of a new Kingdom Hall, attempted to cross with their Hyundai Avante saloon car but got drowned.
The DCE, Hon Joseph Assuming addressing the media in Kumasi said measures have been put in place to construct the bridge to avoid any disaster.
