Residents of Mpohor in the Mpohor District of the Western region has protested against their poor road network by blocking the road with wood logs.
No vehicle plied the road this morning due to the blockage which begun from the Pretsea Junction to the Mpohor town.
The incident took place on Tuesday Morning.
Speaking to My News Ghana, the residents complain that since the President, Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo, cut sod to commence the construction of the road from Kejebir-Mpohor in 2018, no substantial work has been done on the said road by the contractor; JPP Construction Limited. According to them, the contractor has been lackadaisical about the project, and that has resulted in the road getting worse.
They say since the President cut sod for the construction of the 16 kilometre Kejebir-Mpohor road in July, 2018, JPP Construction Limited have only been able to construct gutters of few meters in length, adding that it is unimpressive.
He said the residents say this is just a tip of what they intend to do if government fails to fix their road.
