Member of Parliament for Assin Central the very Honourable Kennedy Agyapong has said Vice Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Prof Obiri Danso must vacate his post because he was imposed on the University by late P.V Obeng for which reason in the run-up to the 2016 election, he prevented then-candidate Akufo-Addo from speaking to the students of the campus, MyNewsGh.com has filed.
Mr Kennedy Agyapong also called on H.M the Otumfuo to stay off the debacle and allow the Vice Chancellor to he dealt with as he deserves, urging President Akufo-Addo to dismiss Prof. Obiri Danso because he was working in the interest of opposition National Democratic Congress’.
Mr Agyapong added that the VC’s decision to convert Unity and Katanga Halls was intended to cause disaffection for the Akufo-Addo government among the students, as in 2016 when the VC refused to allow Akufo-Addo into campus, it was the two Male halls led by Katanga who mobilized themselves and sneaked in Akufo-Addo and Bawumia to address them.
“Prof. Obiri Danso must be booted out of office because he is a die in the wool member of the NDC party. He is an appointee of former President John Dramani Mahama”.
“Have we so soon forgotten how hostile he was towards us when we were in opposition?” he quizzed.
“If I had the power I would have sacked him long ago, he’s a thick NDC member, I can give you his history. If the NDC wants us to do politics with the KNUST issue I’m ready for that, the Vice Chancellor is late P.V Obeng’s boy, I don’t know if the NPP doesn’t have this information.” Kennedy Agyapong fumed.
“When we were going to KNUST, the VC refused to allow Akufo-Addo to enter the place because he was appointed by ex-President Mahama, but Katanga boys who were not happy with the Vice Chancellor’s decision stormed out and led Akufo-Addo’s entourage inside. The NPP must wake up, an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.” he opined.
“The VC never thought there will ever be a day where there’ll be a change of government. Otumfuo, please stop pampering the VC otherwise we can’t solve the problem. The guy has to go,” Ken Agyapong said in an interview.
