An Accra Circuit Court has set free some six persons suspected to have murdered Major Maxwell Mahama in Denkyira-Obuasi.
The six were among 22 suspects standing trial for the murder of the military officer.

The rest are, however, standing trial according to Accra100.5FM’s court reporter, Ama Brako Ampofo.

Those set free are William Annor, Philip Badu, Kwame Agyei, Solomon Sackey, Vivian Asahene and Anthony Amoah.

Major Mahama was lynched on suspicion that he was an armed robber after a group of residents from whom he asked for directions during a Monday dawn jogging session spotted a pistol on him.

The deceased army officer, who was not in any military attire at the time, was attacked by residents allegedly organised by the Assemblyman of the area.
