A trader turned unemployed, Madam Janet Lugunia, has blamed the loss of her job on Ghanaian businessman and politician, Papa Kwesi Nduom.

“Apart from anything criminal, there’s nothing I haven’t done in attempts to get my money. I have cried at the bank’s premises, knelt down and begged, went to their regional head office and begged and so many other things but all have been unsuccessful,” she narrated.
“I even planned to go and see Nduom himself but I have been advised not waste my time because his security won’t allow me see him when I get to Accra,” Janet said amid sobs. Madam Lugunia lives in Kasena-Nankana in the Upper East Region of Ghana.
In a report sent to YEN.com.gh by Senyalah Castro Cazo, the trader is also a single mother of two who depended solely on her business to take care of herself and children.
However, due to the current financial crises in which she found herself, Madam Lugunia said she was unable to look after her children.
Life, she said, had been very tough for her that she had been reduced to begging to feed herself, her aging mother and her children.
Speaking to our informant, Castro Cazo, the single mother said her children had been home because she was not been able to pay their school fees since last term, and now school would be reopened again.
“My older child is in the senior high school. He is in Navrongo Senior High School. They are enjoying free education but there are other things I must provide as a parent. Look at his other siblings; I haven’t been able to pay their fees this first term. Before Nduom’s problem, I was very supportive and my children never lacked anything. But as from August till now, I haven’t been able to give them anything, not even soap to bath,” she cried.
“This is because, all my money has been locked up in GN Bank and I can’t get it to do business again,” Janet added as she reportedly wiped her tears with an already soaked handkerchief.
She revealed further that the problem had given her headaches, sleepless night, and made her lose a huge number of big customers from Accra and other cities.
She confessed to sometimes having thoughts to take her own life to end it all. Madam Lugunia therefore appealed to Dr. Nduom to, as a matter of urgency, come to her aid so she could start her business again. Meanwhile, several visits and calls to the Navrongo and Bolgatanga branches of GN Bank to respond to the issue have not been fruitful.
YEN.com.gh earlier published a report of other clients of GN Bank storming Nduom’s hotel to demand their money. All these have been unsuccessful for them to get back their monies. Rumours have been widely spread that Ndoum kept GN Bank and Gold Coast Security funds with Menzgold, and that’s how customer’s funds are locked-up. YEN.com.gh, however, cannot confirm these rumours.
