A Northern Regional Chairman Aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Alhaji Inusah Amadu widely known as Dagomba Boy has come under severe criticisms by elders of the party over his divisive and tribalistic comments in recent times.
Dagomba Boy is on record to have launched a scathing attack at the Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia whose contribution to the growth of the party in the area has been phenomenal over what is yet to be made public.
The Former Yendi Constituency Chairman of the NPP has repeatedly on live radio made serious tribal comments that have the tendency of heightening a feud and ruining the gains of the NPP in the Northern Region.
In one of his recent radio interviews, he claimed the NPP in the Northern Region is not fully represented at the National Council because the current Chairman Mohammed A. Bantima Samba is a Mamprusi.
He believes the presence of Ghana’s Vice President, Regional Chairman for North East Fuseini Nurudeen and the incumbent Northern Regional Chairman of NPP at the National Executive Committee (NEC) are calculated attempts to deprive the people of the Northern Region in favour of the North East Region.
“His Excellency Bawumia, Chairman Nuru and Chairman Samba are all members of NEC. Who represents the Northern Region because all these three are Mamprusis”, he disclosed on a local radio station.
According to him, these three individuals will focus on developing Mamprugu to the detriment of the Northern Region for which reason he must be made the Regional Chairman to make the region representative enough at the National Council.
When pushed on another network to substantiate the claim, he said “he claimed it was a bicycle riders talk” to wit he was taken out of context by rumor peddlers
His comments have been greeted with scorn by most elders of the NPP with sections calling on the national executives to sanction him for making such unguarded statements that have the tendency of breaking the party and fuelling internal conflict.
The aspirant at the last regional contest came third after polling only 99 votes against the incumbent Bantima Samba who garnered 312 while Daniel Bugri Naabu polled 116 votes.
