National Security operatives have reportedly beaten up a young man at a registration centre in Akyem Asene in the Eastern Region for allegedly challenging the District Chief Executive (DCE) of the area, and trying to prevent him from campaigning for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Eyewitnesses speaking to My News Ghana narrated that the National Security operatives invaded the registration centre firing shots and causing mayhem at the centre.

They pounced on a young man who allegedly questioned the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Alex Inkoom for sharing NPP branded hand sanitizers and face masks at the registration centre.

Irate natives of the area came to the help of the young man by hooting and sending away the security personnel from the place.

The national security operatives are said to have been brought to the registration centre by Hon. Alex Inkoom to molest and harass the young man who challenged him.
