We Disassociate Ourselves From Ella’s ‘Misleading Rape’ Allegation-Groups

Four Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex+ (LGBTQ+) groups have disassociated themselves from the alleged rape incident involving Ella Ellios aka DJ Ella Deevah.

The groups LBQT consortium, LGBT+Rights Ghana, Rightify, and Safe Haven Global in a joint statement noted that they withdrew from the incident following evidence and recordings available to them.

According to them, they had planned to give the victim some help but from what has happened, they no longer wish to do so.

They however pledged to give her psychotherapy assessment and treatments at no cost to her.

“We take rape cases seriously, and we hope that the Ghana police will investigate this case in fairness without bias, so that the person who has been wronged can receive the necessary justice they deserve,” the statement said.

The lady in question in a recent post alleged that she was drugged and raped by some men for two days.

She appealed to the public to give her all the support needed because she felt her life had come to an end.

She also launched a GoFund in the bid to seek support but the groups say that exercise is misleading.

To the general public,
We the above organizations were disheartened when we heard about the alleged rape and abuse of Ella Ellios also known as DJ Ella Deevah. We reached out to Ella immediately and provided her the necessary medical attention she needed, an emergency kit as well as a safe place to stay temporarily, at no cost to her.

However, based on the evidences at hand (audios of her , audios of the boyfriend, medical reports and one on one conversations with her) we see it fit to distance ourselves from Ella’s rape allegations at this point.

We take rape cases seriously, and we hope that the Ghana police will investigate this case in fairness without bias, so that the person who has been wronged can receive the necessary justice they deserve.

DJ Ella Deevah, we love you and care about you and we are willing to continue to provide assistance with regards to psychotherapy assessment and treatments if needed.

If anyone wishes to donate to her GoFundMe which is misleading, please know that

The LGBT+ community are no longer part of this case and are only going to provide psychotherapy treatments at this time. The services will continue to be free at no charge to Ella through our various organizations.

We want to categorically state that, regardless of the validity of Ella’s claim, no one deserves any form of violence due to their sexuality and we firmly condemn the violent comments being made against Ella and other publicly known community members.

Furthermore, we are open to support LGBT+ victims of abuses in any form so feel free to reach out whenever the need arises.

Thank you and Happy Pride to everyone.
