We know those who caused our defeat, we’re waiting for you in internal election – NDC Executives told

The Asawase Constituency Branch Communication Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Shafi Ibrahim has issued a stern warning to party executives who were complicit in its 2020 defeat to stay off or be humiliated at the polls.

He is urging supporters of the party to campaign against any executive who contributed to the defeat of the party in the 2020 general elections that saw the comeback of John Dramani Mahama flop.

According to Shafi Ibrahim, the NDC party was cheated and lost the 2020 general elections to the governing New Patriotic Party(NPP) primarily because some party executives were not committed to the victory of John Dramani Mahama and the party as a whole

Commenting on the MP for Asawase Constituency Hon Alhaji Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka’s appeal to the party supporters not to change the current executives, Shafi Ibrahim in an interview with Pure Fm’s Osei Kwadwo said the winning team failed to give the party victory in the 2020 general elections.

“Though some Regional and National executives of the party performed marvelously well for the party in the 2020 general elections, some deserve not to be in their current positions as the party is preparing for 2024 general elections,” Shafi Ibrahim said.

“Some executives in the Ashanti Region especially the regional chairman Nana Akwasi did nothing to be part of the winning team Hon Muntaka Mubarak was talking about”.

“When you come to Asawase Constituency I must admit that we have the winning team because we protected the Asawase seat but Asawase has always been in power and before 2020 general, Hon Munkata Mubarak campaigned against some of the executives who contributed to the party’s victory in 2016 general elections”

Shafi Ibrahim added that “2024 elections as former President John Dramani Mahama said is at ‘Do or Die’ affairs and some of us will not pamper and praise any executive who is not performing” he added.
