“The President should decree so that the so-called ballot box snatchers within the NDC planning to foment trouble, if they venture into a polling station to engage in such an act we will shoot and kill them in 2020”, these are the exact quotes of a leading communications member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region, Boateng Duncan popularly known as Bombay.

He is advocating for a shoot to kill during 2020 general elections for ballot box snatchers to serve as a deterrent to those who feel they can intimidate others with their vigilante groups and get away with it.

According to Boateng Duncan, he does not see the reason why police and other security agencies fail to shoot to kill people who snatch ballot boxes and misbehave during elections wondering what they hold the loaded weapons for.

While accusing the executives of National Democratic Congress (NDC) of being behind snatching of ballot boxes during general elections in the country in time past, he warned that such acts will be fiercely resisted and anyone who dares will be shot to death.

Commenting on the disbandment of vigilante groups on Kumasi-based Abusua Fm’s Morning Show, he charged President Akufo-Addo to order shoot to kill of ballot box snatchers he described as criminals.

The NPP activist believes the NDC has planned to cause confusion during the 2020 elections because of they the party desperate for power and believes it is the only way that can smoothen its path to victory.

“Ghana is a peaceful country but NDC people want to create confusion for other countries to see Ghana as insecurity country. They are behind ballot box snatchers during elections because NDC as a party cannot win an election fairly in this country. The Ghana Police service and other security agencies shouldn’t treat ballot box snatcher with kid’s gloves. Ballot box snatchers must be shot and killed because NDC is behind them” he said.
