In an exclusive interview with the Speaker, Right Honourable Samuel Akanaba Ayomah, members of the house will be visiting the various radio stations in the region to sensitize the people especially the youth on election violence and the consequences.

According to him, the house will be divided into groups to visit churches in the constituency to engage the youth on election violence since they are mostly used by politicians to foment violence before, during and after elections.

He mentioned the house will also visit the numerous mosques in the municipality to preach peace where the people would be permitted to ask questions and recommendation pertaining to violence – free elections.

He continued to explain that the house which is poised to play a vital role to ensure peaceful in the constituency, will also visit market places, lorry stations and other social gatherings to spread the message.

” We believe our advocacy will go a long way to prevent any form of violence ahead of the elections ” Rt. Hon. Samuel Akanaba Ayomah, Speaker of Asunafo North Youth Parliament.

Meanwhile, some students of Mim Senior High School who attended the ceremony as observers also tasked members to also seek the interest of the youth first as they are mandated.

According to them, for the house to decide to sensitize the youth on election violence will help avert chaos as the national polls draw closer is a plus and commendable.

The National Youth Parliament (NYP) concept is to provide a single formalized youth structure at district, regional and national levels for the youth to air their frustrations, deliberate on matters of importance to youth development and hold duty bearers accountable.
